В этом небольшом отеле всего 7 гостевых номеров, но каждый декорирован в определенном интересном стиле с использованием антикварной мебели и бумаги karakami (бумага, которая пришла из Китая в эпоху Нара и в дальнейшем использовалась для перегородок сёдзи в дворцовом стиле shinden zukuri).

Our seven rooms consist of four different types, following a traditional concept which expresses the beauties of nature in Japan," Ka-Cho-Fu-Getsu." Each room is en-suite and decorated by exquisite pieces of antique furniture, purchased by the hotel owner herself. All rooms are also graced by "karakami" paper from "Karacho Shop", which was founded as old as 400 years ago and now is the only one that can produce genuine Kyoto karakami paper.

Kyoto is easily the most beautiful city I have been to in my life. Even as a picky traveller, and vegetarian at that, I found it to be the most hospitable and culturally magnificent. The stay at Hotel Mume, a breathtaking boutique hotel in the heart of the city, was absolutely memorable. Each of the just 7 EXCLUSIVE rooms is dedicated to one element of nature.
